How exactly do you make a pillowcase cat carrier?

Ok so you put the cat gently in the pillowcase and then tie it with a shoelace tightly right? And then put it in like a laundry basket. Is this good? i have no cat carrier and I can't afford one...I am worrying about the vet bill right now. Can the cat breathe, being confined in a tightly shut pillowcase? or the small holes in the cloth will allow it to breathe? It's like a 15-20 minute drive
