Good suburb to rent in Canberra?

My husband and our 2 kids- 1 & 5 years old , are moving to Canberra soon. Can anyone reccomend an affordable, safe, family suburb. We are currently paying $350 a week and would not like to go any higher. I know it is expensive to live in Canberra and am worried $350 is not enougth to live in a safe suburb. We are really into outdoor living and currently live in a suburb surrounded by parks. Can anyone reccomend an area suitable for us to rent? Also as a matter of interest can someone tell us the BEST and worst suburbs to live in, and why?
