What is the ADF gap year experience like?

I have no idea, I was in the U.S. Army. But I wish we had a similar program here. I think a lot of kids would take the military up on an offer of one year to try the military without any further obligation. In the U.S., if you join the military at all, it's an 8 year obligation, no backing out of it!
