World of warcraft..dk and cata questions.?

okay so i made a decision of making a DK since ppl are saying they look good in cata. i made an orc and im think of specing blood ( isnt that the pvp tree? or tank) im gonna pvp. im buying cata once i get paid on the 18. now once i get this dk to 80-85 which will be awhile. how do i go about getting heirlooms? my highest toon is a lvl 55 taren ret pally.( also can i delete him now that i have a dk?) i want to get heirlooms so i can lvl up either a goblin shaman or troll warlock,shaman,druid.
