Stop Payment on New Apartment App Fee?

I recently went to an apartment complex and initially thought I loved it...paid the $45 app fee and $100 deposit. After reading horrible reviews online I have changed my mind about living there, and my app still hasn't been processed because I haven't given them all the necessary forms. What recourse does the apartment complex have if I were to place a stop payment on the checks? I know the app fee may not be refundable and I may have signed something saying just that, but should the deposit be refundable if I never even move in? Can I just pay my bank the "stop payment" fee, or will I live in fear of litigation from the property managers?

Sometimes it seems like the majority of people can't really empathize with others. It saddens me to see how people (myself included) can look at a picture of a starving kid one minute, and then go lavish themselves with expensive stuff the next. I still remember a few years back when we were learning about the holocaust, all the kids in my cl (9 year olds) were totally OUTRAGED. Some even started to cry. But now, we just don't care. Water Leaks - Windows and ceiling of first floor of stucco home.?

I have put sealant around the top of the first floor windows outside but still get a leak in the same spot inside - not sure why? Also, just noticed after a heavy rains that my ceiling was leaking(first floor) and there was nothing causing it from second floor. Could this be due to the stucco being poorly installed and it is leaking in and following along a beam? Horses and "pigeon fever"?

I have a 5-6 year old Appendix gelding, and he now might have pigeon fever. I went to the stable today, took off his blanket, and started brushing off all dry sweat left over from Thursday. I went to brush his stomache(where the girth/cinch goes) and he sucked up his stomach and flinched away. I got my trainer, and they said it can be Pigeon Fever. They are now moving him to a stall away from all of the horses. Has anyone had a horse with Pigeon Fever?? If so, how long did it take for it to go away, and whatever else I need to know?? Why won't my little dog use puppy pads?

Well, that is a little weird because dogs usually prefer to go on something cloth rather than linoleum or wood. If she has a favorite spot, though, it usually works to place her pad there or really sanitize the area so it no longer smells like her pee/poop and she won't ociate it so much with going potty. They like to go in the same place over and over, so if those spots still smell (even a little) like her potty spot, she'll continue to go there. Sometimes it just takes patience and a lot of repeating. Dogs need routine and need it like POUNDED in their head before they understand, lol. Next time, maybe try placing her on the pad when she looks like she's about to go potty and don't let her off. This may take a lot of patience, but eventually, she'll have to go there. Then, when she does, give her something she really enjoys, be it a treat, your praise, a toy, or just petting her a lot and saying good girl. She should then ociate going potty on the pad with good things and want to go more often. And if she IS full grown you'll probably have a harder time because adults are a little harder to train than puppies. Good luck.

I agree, hold your puppy when introducing to your dog. BUT add a treat everytime you introduce the puppy. That way your dog will see your puppy as something positive and good. Never leave the puppy uattended or awhile during introductions until it is certain that a good relationship is established. I found a plant in my yard that smells really good! what.....?

The plant is kind of like a small tree that will probably get bigger. Green stem with small yellow flowers in bunches smaller than my pinky nail with 1.5 cm leaves that are velvety with small hairs. when a flower/leaf/branch is broken off it smells sweet. Almost like polo perfume for men. When the outer layer of bark/skin from the branches is peeled away, it smells like fresh cut watermelon! When a leave is torn off, or a branch cleanly broken it smells like lime or lemonade. I am really wondering what it is............I may get a picture, I will add it in a detail tomorrow. The Anglican clergy are being acknowledged as a valid priesthood when John Paul II offered silver pectoral crosses to the other Anglicans, when According to Catholic theology, Anglican bishops aren't really bishops at all, and hence have no business sporting the symbols of the bishop's office. The post-conciliar church no longer teaches that Protestants and schismatics have to convert to be saved, denying the doctrine that there is no salvation outside the Church. How far is this eenism gong to go?

What type of 600cc japanese street bike should i expect to buy for $3,500?

Look around, you should have NO problem getting yourself a 2003 Kawasaki ZX6R for close to that price. You'll see a lot of older bikes with insane price tags.. just p them by.. people seem to think their used and abused sport bike is worth gold for some reason.. I still find it funny the guys with 05/06's for sale asking more then you can buy an 07 brand new out the door at your local dealer. The main reason for these outrageous prices is people bought the bike new at the dealer and went with dealer financing (usually in the forum of a credit card) and they owe a lot more than the bike is worth because of there $99/mo payments.. I personally bought my 2004 Kawasaki ZX6R w/3800 miles for $4K, bike came with after market exhaust, steering damper, and a few cosmetic upgrades. You should have no problem getting a fuel injected bike (2003+ for most brands) in your price range ($3500-$4000). Look on cycletrader.com, craigslist.com,ebay.com, search google or yahoo for motorcycle messages boards in your area (Tampa, FL has TampaSportBikes.com) and do a search for brand specific bikes (kawiforums.com for example). Stay away from dealers, they're going to mark the bike up a lot more than its worth unless your buying an 07 brand new that they need to push out to make room for 08's. Hope this helps. On a side note, don't skimp out on the gear! Get a quality helmet, gloves, boots and jacket (riding pants if you want on going on runs or trackdays). Good luck! I saw this commercial for a charity and it said 1.1 billion people don't have access to clean water. What I don't understand is why simple purification methods aren't used. In survival handbooks, they always tell you how to filter water using rocks or cloth, about boiling it for purification, and about those purification tablets. These methods seem rather cheap and easy to use. Why aren't charities, or even impoverished villages themselves, using these methods to fix the crisis?

How to help people in my neighborhood who won't ask for it?

I live in NYC, and since last year have noticed more and more people in my neighborhood who can't pay for groceries at the checkout, and who are talking about losing their jobs because they can't afford childcare. I was in line behind a man today with his young son, and he was buying cheese and a loaf of bread for 2.50, and didn't have enough in his debit account to pay for them. After he left the store, I paid for them from the cashier, and tried to give them to him discreetly on the street, but he said he "couldn't take welfare and couldn't take handouts". It killed me, because my parents were the same way, and though they taught us self reliance, we went hungry a lot. I'm a student at a public university now, and only make enough money with my part time job to pay for rent and food for myself, but I know there's people in my neighborhood who are too proud to ask for help with the basics, even when they have kids, and however tight my finances are, I know I could do something. There are a gazillion programs in NYC for kids, but the programs can't get to the kids if parents don't want to use them. Is there anything I could do that's less of a "hand out" and more win-win? I've thought about posting a "teach me how to cook" thing on Craigslist (I'll do screening and all that before letting anyone into my apartment), where I pay for the materials/groceries, and we split the food, or doing free tutoring for kids, and having lunch or dinner for them. I'm very sensitive to people who don't want to feel like their getting something for nothing, so I want to be able to have a more equal relationship. Any ideas?

'03 Buick Rendevous CX-May be a speed sensor problem I'm Told?

My '03 Rendevous CX runs great when traveling down the highway, but in town with starts/stops the transmission does not shift right. When this problem first appeared yesterday, I also noticed the speedometer does not work but the odometer does. No "Service Engine Light" comes on at any time. I have been told by Auto Zone that a Speed Sensor needs to be replaced. But which one, input/output? And is this truly the cause of the problem? Maybe one of you ASE certified techs can tell me? ok so i received a smoking on the beach ticket in Malibu in the middle of august. i was unemployed at the time and so i received an extension till the end up september. then again till December. the again till January then again till February. in december i moved to spokane Washington and got a job. and started saving for my first place to live (needed because i was living with my sisters family). so when i bought my cheap place and started paying bills i realized i wasn't able to save any money really. so i call the court and ask what i can do when i live out of state and cant set a court date to ask for a payment plan. they told me to write a letter so i did. i wrote a very Professional letter to them and it got to them right before it went to a warrant. so i call they say wait for a reply in the mail. i get a reply and they say u have a warrant for your arrest in the state of california and i fine of $540 when the original ticket was only $180. im trying to do this honestly but i cant save cash and now i am worried because i have a warrant what do i do......i need some serious advice i don't wanna go to jail but it is impossible to pay 540 all at once

'Good' does not come in to it. This was made when people made jokes about doubling a Skoda's value when you filled the tank. Actually build quality was not really that bad but certainly the car was very basic and crude, By todays standards the handling was woeful, particularly in the wet. If all your driving was at slow speeds in a city you might ~ just ~ have considered it value for money. You really would not want to be driving one nowadays.

I don't seem to have many options in sharm el sheikh for our kids schooling. 1/2 the time would be spent in maadi and the other 1/2 in sharm; if need be we could just stay in one spot and that'd be sharm el sheikh if only one area had to be picked. but I only found one english speaking school there, sharm el sheik college + wonder how effective it is compared to the schools in cairo. so the idea of homeschooling came up + I'm really not that organized to do it well, but I'll try + will have help so it is workable. know of any programs that you'd recommend for homeschooling? I'd really like for my kids, ages 5 and 7, to learn arabic. but since they'd be spending most of their time w/ me I doubt that'll happen easily despite being immersed in egyptian culture when we get there. I'm incapable of teaching them arabic (althought their father's a native egyptian speaker + mainly communicates w/ our kids in english unfortunately). I've been thinking about joining the Army Reserves coupled with picking up ROTC next semester. I've done a lot of research but there's only so much information on the Army/Army recruiting websites, and I'm sure there's much more to it than they let on. I've heard a lot of good things about it, such as the money for school and the training you will receive helping you with your civilian job. But on the other hand I've heard stories of enlisted soldiers/officers receiving nowhere near the amount of money that they were promised for tuition, monthly stipend, etc., on top of many other things. I would just like to know what I can expect, good things or bad, if I were to decide to join. Any information is appreciated, but as I'm looking for reasonably fine-tuned details, input from Army soldiers/Reservists is preferred. Thanks much.
